We Are Dedicated to Patient Wellness

My Ride to Wellness™ (myR2W) improves the day-to-day life of cancer patients and their caregivers through transportation, nutrition and information support. Launched in San Antonio, Texas in 2009, myR2W is the newly branded patient services program of the  American Cancer Research Center and Foundation (ACRCF), a national non-profit research institute dedicated to the prevention and control of cancer and cancer-related chronic diseases.

There are few words to describe the feeling I get when I get to help someone in need, and I am so blessed I get to feel that way every day of my life. As a cancer survivor myself, and a wife to a husband living with cancer, I can tell you honestly that sometimes the simplest gestures in life, like a ride when you need one, make the biggest difference in someone else’s day. — Amy Blanford, Health Programs Coordinator, ACRCF/myR2W

MyR2W fills the growing need among underserved cancer patients for rides to and from cancer treatment appointments. An immediate success since its launch, the program draws an endless number of patients eager to qualify for the service.

Each patient receives as many rides as is necessary for treatment in contrast to other programs that cap the number of rides they offer. Each myR2W van provides around 3,000 rides (1,500 round trip) per year.

The myR2W transportation program is currently available only to patients in the San Antonio area.
